Five French podcasts I recommend
I still remember the very first podcast episode I have ever listened to: it was How To Actually Learn A New Language With Benny Lewis of Fluent in 3 Months from the College Info Geek podcast released back in 2014. Amusingly, the way it started combines two things I enjoy greatly: listening to the podcasts and learning new languages.
I am now learning French and trying to pass the TCF Canada exam, and for me listening to the podcasts is a great way to learn something new and practice comprehension skills at the same time. If you are looking for some recommendations, I am linking them below in order of my perceived difficulty:
- LanguaTalk Slow French: Learn French With Gaëlle | French podcast for A2-B1: I like this one, because the host speaks slow enough to understand her but not too slow to lose interest. She also explains some things in English from time to time, and I found this very helpful to understand word connotations better.
- Listen to Little Talk in Slow French: Learn French through conversations: This one has lots of real-life practical dialogues and teaches how to actually use French to survive in a francophone environment.
- Easy French: Learn French through authentic conversations | Conversations authentiques pour apprendre le français: I like this one for the personalities of the hosts: they share personal stories, opinions and discuss latest news or controversial topics, so it's always interesting to listen to.
- InnerFrench: This podcast is aimed at intermediate level learners. Personally, I do not listen to this one very often, but it gets recommended often by others and I felt connected to the host as he lived in Poland for some time.
- Change ma vie : Outils pour l'esprit: This podcast is my favorite and not related to language learning at all! If you are at an intermediate level, I highly recommend listening to this one. This is a podcast of Clotilde Dusoulier, a life coach, and the main idea of her method is to share the instruments on how to live authentically and in line with your potential and vision. It is packed with motivational and actionable information.
I wish you luck in your language learning journey!
